Scottish, down-to-earth and quietly spiritual. After a corporate career, a divorce and coming through breast cancer, I know how much the big moments matter — and how badly a generic ceremony lets them down.
I’m Gail. I’m an independent celebrant based in Blackburn, working across the town and around 20 miles beyond it. I write and lead weddings, funerals, memorials, living wakes and bespoke ceremonies — and I hold ritual work for circles, community groups, death cafes, retreats and gatherings.
My ceremonies tend to be a mix of humour and emotion, because most lives are. I’m not a comedy celebrant; I’m a storyteller who is genuinely interested in who you are. I ask good questions, I listen hard, and then I give you back your own story in words you recognise.
Practically, I’m degree educated, highly organised and very easy to get hold of. You’ll get quick replies, a written copy of your ceremony to approve, and absolutely no surprises on the day. When people are at their most vulnerable, my job is to make them feel safe.
Away from ceremonies you’ll find me on a netball court, recording my podcast, or running The Unstuck Club — helping people get moving in their own lives again.
